There’s Still Time for Color Me Mine…
My nephew and I spent last Friday at Color Me Mine, our local pottery-painting franchise, working on a gift for his mom (my sister). It’s a fun, creative outlet, especially for kids, to create a thoughtful and useful gift.
The great news is that there’s still plenty of time to take advantage of this gift option. Typically it takes a week for them to fire and finish your pieces. So with a little over a week to Mother’s Day pop into Color Me Mine and get your paint on.
It’s Time to Tell Mom Just How Much She Means to You…
A Very Special Occasion…
I had the honor of witnessing my Goddaughter’s baptism this past weekend in the same church where I stood as a bridesmaid for her mother nearly 15 years ago (time’s a flying).
I was able to find a gift that she really liked and that I thought fit such a momentous occasion. I gave her the International Children’s Bible to help her grow spiritually as she embarks upon her journey.

Happy Birthday “Shout Out” to my sister and all Aries babies celebrating birthdays today…
So I know that the word “bling” is old, and tired, and a whole bunch of other words that tell me not to use it anymore, but it’s alliterative, so sue me, and it perfectly describes the types of gifts that I buy for my sister and any other jewelry loving ladies out there.
Today I wanted to highlight a couple of cool new places I found while brunching with a soror in Bethesda: Luna and Ginger.
These spots helped me find some great gifts for my sissy and a little something for myself!
Ginger also sells Skincando’s Combat Ready Balm which is only available via certain distributors. If you’ve never tried it, I recommend checking it out. It’s great for torn cuticles, skin irritations, and other aesthetic issues.
Just because gifts should be given “just because”…
My co-workers and I recently got into a blog-worthy discussion over the idea of “just because” gifts. I have to say I’m a lucky girl, and a lucky blogger, because I’m surrounded by givers. I’m always receiving “just because” gifts… notepads, kitchen tools, umbrellas, etc.
So if you’re not a regular giver, consider conditioning yourself by starting with “just because” gifts. I guarantee that you will make someone’s day.
Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, so start planning.
Note that the term “mothers” should include any type of mother (step, adoptive, etc.)
